Ed Dedelow
A True Fiscal Conservative

About Me

Ed's goal is to reduce the size of government, so as to increase America's productivity, eliminate the trade deficit and fiscal deficit and to stop our dependence on foreign goods.

Edward Dedelow was born and raised in NW Indiana. He received a BS in Business with a major in Accounting from Brigham Young University. .

Ed moved to Central Florida in 1969 and has lived here ever since. He worked two years in auditing and tax before becoming CFO of a multimillion dollar developer. In 1973, he earned the designation of Certified Public Accountant and was admitted to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in 1974. Later that year, he started his own practice, providing tax advice and preparation, business consulting, and financial statement audits. He practiced until 1994 and still maintains his CPA designation.

Ed also has an active Florida Certified Building Contractor license. He has built over 100 Central Florida homes and commercial constructions. Revenues from his construction business in today's dollars would be in excess of 50 million.

As a business man, Ed Dedelow knows that lower taxes and responsible government will get our economy back on track. He has owned two successful businesses and is keenly aware of the importance of keeping costs low and cutting waste. This is what he will fight for as a congressman.

Ed is an erudite of economics and believes in the logical application of economics to our governance. Ed is the author of "Why Capitalism Works and Government Doesn't," which he wrote in 1996 and published in 2009. In the book, he challenges current economic thinking, discussing inefficiencies in government, compounding government growth, problems with our legislative procedure, the importance of productive private sector jobs, over burdensome government jobs and the miscalculation of GDP. He explains how the inclusion of both embedded taxes and most government expenditures in GDP double counts this spending and leads to an overestimation of the size of our economy and an underestimation of government's control of it. This leads to a dramatic overestimation of the tax base from which government receives its revenue.

Ed Dedelow is the father of eight children, Kellie, William, Scott, Bonnie, Ryan, and the triplets Beverly, Todd and Kristine. He is the grandfather of 12 and counting, and is driven to help provide them with the same opportunities that he had throughout his life.
